The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as “Auto Shanghai 2023”) will be held from April 18 to April 27 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Auto Shanghai 2023, as a famous name card of Shanghai city, will once again serve as a grand industrial event for the car manufacturers around the world, boosting the confidence of auto market, increasing automobile consumption, invigorating the industry and forging cooperation for high-quality development. 

Auto Shanghai 2023 is organized by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and China Council for the Promotion of International trade, Automotive Sub-Council, co-organized by Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd. and Messe München GmbH as the German Co-organizer. China Machinery Industry Federation is the special supporter of the exhibition while the Society of Automotive Engineers of China is the supporter.

According to the exhibition schedule, April 18 and April 19 are press days open only for media; April 20 to April 21 are trade days and April 22 to April 27 are public days.

Auto Shanghai 2023 has attracted the active participation of over 1,000 exhibitors. With an exhibition area of over 360,000sqm, Auto Shanghai will occupy 13 indoor halls of NECC (Shanghai). Among them, 9 halls are for passenger vehicles (3H, 4.1H, 5.1H, 6.1H, 6.2H, 7.1H, 7.2H, 8.1H, 8.2H); 3 halls are for auto tech and supply chain (1.2H, 2.1H, 2.2H); 1 hall is for media(5.2H). Except the above, the venue has the functional and service area such as catering area, rest area, first-aid stations etc.

Auto Shanghai 2023 will only offer E-tickets. Visitors are required to buy E-tickets in advance, apply for real name authentication, and scan valid personal ID for entry (for visitors from non-mainland China,avalid ID such as passport is required for entry), and strictly follow the visit date marked on the E-ticket.

Auto makers: Auto Shanghai 2023 has once again attracted main-stream international and domestic auto makers to display with high-level standard. As the first Class-A auto show to be held this year, Auto Shanghai 2023 is the eye-catcher of the global automobile industry.

Domestic six main automobile groups FAW Hongqi, FAW BESTUNE, Dongfeng Motor, SAIC Group (ROEWE, MG, MAXUS), Changan Automobile, BAIC Motor and GAC Group (GAC TRUMPCHI, GAC AION) will exhibit all the lineups with their group image. Geely, LYNK&CO, HAVAL, POER, TANK, WEY, BYD, Chery, EXEED, JETOUR, iCAR, JAC, JMC etc. will participate the show in the full force.

Luxury brands including Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, LOTUS NYO, Yangwang etc. will actively join the show. Luxurious modified cars including Fujian Benz, Lorinser, VULCANUS, AM, KEDE, MANSORY, Jun-Tian, CARLSSON, ARMADILLO, AUXUN & LUMMA, KARLMANN, BUFITE,CARVERAUTO, JINGHANG AUTO, CYBERSPACE, Brabus, Shenzer etc. will also be presented at the show..

The Organizer has fully arranged a series of parallel events, the themes of which draw from a number of hot topics such as new energy, IoT technology, hydrogen energy, smart car etc., depicting the new trend of futuristic automobile development driven by innovative technology. 

1. Press Days 

From April 18 to April 19, auto-maker and auto parts exhibitors will hold 143 press conferences at their booths or meeting rooms, declaring the grand opening of Auto Shanghai 2023. Company strategies and latest car models of major brands will be officially released or launched, attracting global attention to Shanghai. Journalists from home and abroad are thereby welcomed to come and cover their reports.

2. Match-making Events and Tech Forums

During the exhibition period, the Organizer will launch series of industry summits, match-making & tech forums, workshops, sourcing meetings, covering contents such as new energy, IoT technology, hydrogen energy, smart car etc..

High-level Safety Management: improving our service by digitalization

To ensure a safe, civilized, ordered and brilliant exhibition, Shanghai Municipal Government and relevant departments have attached high importance and great support to Auto Shanghai 2023. Facing possible huge visitor flow and other challenges regarding transportation, accommodation, catering etc., the Organizer will proactively prepare for all emergency plans. 

Public Traffic Guide

To relieve traffic jam in the surrounding area of the exhibition center, the Organizer would suggest visitors to take public transportation to arrive at the venue; avoid visiting the exhibition during weekends or rush hours. For solving the traffic problem during the rush hour after the closure, the Organizer will arrange shuttle buses to deliver visitors from the exhibition center to the corresponding metro stations and the bus station. Taxi will be coordinated to the appointed pick-up area and there will be temporary ticket office and S shape queuing area at the metro entrance for evacuating the visitor flow.

At the entrance of several popular halls, the Organizer will set up queuing place to maintain the order. The Organizer will release “Commitment Letter for the Participation with civility” at the event, directing the exhibitors to participate the show in a self-controlled manner and encouraging positive media coverage, meanwhile strengthening the supervision and management measures, and avoiding the occurrence of misbehavior. Moreover, the Organizer has set up information desks, special rest areas, first-aid stations, ambulances, vehicles supporting telecommunication and other service facilities, bringing more convenience to visitors.

Media Registration and Press Center

The Organizer has opened the pre-registration system for the media on the official website （www.autoshanghai.org/www.autochinashow.org）from April 9 to 24:00, April 16. There will be no on-site registration. After authentication, qualified journalists will have to scan valid personal ID to enter the venue. No physical media badge will be provided on site. The press center located in Hall 2.1H, will be open to the media to provide convenience and technical support for onsite coverage.

E-tickets

Auto Shanghai 2023 will only offer E-tickets. Visitors can buy the E-tickets via Auto Shanghai Official WeChat Mini App and finish real-name authentication. You will not be able to buy the tickets on the day you arrive. All ticket-holders will have to activate the tickets by real-name authentication at 6 p.m. on the day before your visit. Otherwise, you will not be able to enter the hall. The real-name registration cannot be done on your visit. Children under 1.3 meters can enter for free and should be accompanied by adults rather than coming alone. Visitor Instruction

Visitors must bring valid personal ID (Chinese mainland visitors– ID card; Chinese visitors from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan– Travel permit for residents of HongKong, Macao and Taiwan; visitors from other countries and regions – Passport) and enter the hall with valid ID. Make sure to check your own health and wear masks for personal protection.
